On April 26, JETs@State and JETAADC held a joint JET alumni speaker panel at the U.S. Department of State. Roughly 40 attendees gathered to hear from three talented JET alumni advancing U.S.-Japan relations in the U.S. Foreign Service – Katherine “Kemy” Monahan, Andrew Lee, and Ben Parisi. They spoke about their experiences on JET and how that led them to careers in diplomacy. Several recently returned JET alumni also had the opportunity to ask questions and advice from the panelists. Additionally, participants networked with other JET alumni and Friends of JET working at the State Department. We would like to sincerely thank Ari Wyckoff (Iwate, 2002-2003) and all of the JETs@State volunteers for their time and support in making this a successful collaboration!
