Calling all JET alumni in the DMV! The JET Program Office is hosting a booth again at Sakura Matsuri on the weekend of April 13 and 14 and is looking for JET alumni to volunteer at their booth. All volunteers will receive a free entry pass to the Sakura Matsuri Street Festival!
Time & Date: Saturday, April 13, 10:30am – 6:00pm; Sunday, April 14, 10:30am – 4:00pm Location: Pennsylvania & Constitution Aves, between 3rd and 7th Streets NW, Washington DC (Volunteers will know the exact booth location once it’s decided.) Time: There will be 2 shifts available per day. Saturday: 10:00am – 2:00pm; 2:00pm – 6:00pm Sunday: 10:00am – 1:00pm; 1:00pm – 4:00pm *Although the event itself begins at 10:30am on Saturday and Sunday, for set-up purposes, the morning volunteer shifts start at 10:00am. *If you would like to volunteer but can’t commit to a full shift, please let the JET Program Office know when you complete the interest survey linked below.
Duties: Help run the booth activity (TBD) and share your experience with the JET Program and knowledge of Japan with festival-goers. Let’s get more people interested in applying to the JET Program! Refreshments: The JET Program Office will provide drinks to keep up everyone’s energy (snacks TBC), and there will be a variety of food stalls nearby where you can purchase larger meals.
Please fill out the survey below to indicate your interest and availability for shifts. The deadline to submit is Tuesday, March 26, 5:00pm EDT. Volunteers will be contacted about shift assignments during the last week of March. If you have any questions, please contact jetprogram@ws.mofa.go.jp.

Join JETs@State and JETAADC for a Panel Speaker event hosted by the U.S. Department of State at the Harry S. Truman (HST) building! This event will be an opportunity to hear from three experienced professionals with careers in U.S.-Japan and U.S.-East Asia international affairs about the ways that JET enhanced and/or catalyzed their East Asia-focused career paths. It also is a chance to connect with former JETs currently working at the State Department. Recently returned JETs are especially welcome to attend!
