Spring Semester Starts April 19, 2010.
The Japan-America Society Language School, now in its 50th year, is the oldest and biggest Japanese language school in the Washington DC area. All classes are taught by native Japanese speakers and held in the evening. Classes are offered at every level, from beginner to advanced.

*The tests are not mandatory and should only be used as guidelines to determine your class level.

Class Size: Minimum of 4 students & Maximum of 12 students
JET Returnees: JASW in partnership with the Embassy of Japan will offer a free one-year $60 membership to JET alumni who decide to take our language classes from April 2010. This will allow JET alumni to study at the discounted member rate. This is a limited offer, on a first-come-first-serve basis. On the registration form, please indicate that you are JET alumni and write down years of participation. For new students only.
Private Tutoring/Online Class: They are offering private tutoring to local students or online class (with skype) to students who cannot come to JASW for a class. This option is available only during the day (before 5:20pm) on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday (time pending negotiation with student’s schedule and teachers’ schedule). They can only accommodate a few students per semester. Classes are for any level the student wishes to learn and it will be $30 for a 60 minute class. Students are encouraged to take at least 5 classes. Please contact them for more information.
