Peace Corps Volunteers

I thought it might interest some of you to know that Peace Corps will be having an information session on Tuesday, May 18 at Peace Corps HQ. I wasn’t a Peace Corps Volunteer, but I work for the agency now and can attest to the need for teachers with experience like JET.

Peace Corps has international work assignments in more than 75 countries (soon to be 76 as a program is opening in Colombia). Positions are available in education, health, agriculture, environment, business, technology or community development.

5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Peace Corps service offers some excellent benefits: student loan deferral, full medical and dental coverage, a living stipend, a readjustment allowance of over $7,000 upon completion of service, graduate school opportunities, and 24 vacation days a year.

If you are interested, go to the information meeting and talk to a recruiter and former volunteers about the Peace Corps experience. Feel free to pass this on to anyone interested in Peace Corps service!

Thanks!
