From JETAADC member, Carmel Looking for a volunteer to help manage a stage at the 51st annual Sakura Matsuri (Japanese cherry blossom festival) on Saturday, April 9th. Hours are 4:30 am until around 7 or 8 pm, if possible. Would definitely need to be there between 10 am and 6 pm. There will be some meetings to prepare for the festival beforehand, and also duties related to communicating with performers before the festival date. Experience with stage management and/or performing arts is helpful, but not required. In addition, Japanese language ability is not required, but certainly a bonus as the volunteer will be dealing directly with Japanese performers. No payment, but you will be fed and get a free t-shirt. In addition, you'll have an up-close view of a bunch of performances (drumming, dancing, singing, etc.). Finally, it's fun! Email Carmel at camst87@yahoo.com if interested.
