In this edition of JETAADC News:
Message from the Board:
Hello all, and an especially big welcome to the new JET returnees!
As the Outreach Chair, my goal is to expand the presence of JETAADC within the local U.S.-Japan community.
We had a productive summer with a pub quiz co-hosted by JETAADC and the Japan America Society of Washington, D.C. (JASW). Many came, including a team from the State Department led by Marc Knapper (Director of the Japan Desk). We also provided professional volunteers for the Japanese American Citizen League’s (JACL) National Convention, who attended the closing reception at the Japanese Ambassador’s residence as thanks.
Fall Events:
Oct 2 – JETAADC will team up again with JASW for a happy hour at Perry’s, one of our biggest networking events of the year!
Late Oct/Early Nov – Stay tuned for details about our annual Career Night. This year I am coordinating with the JET Office to have both Career Night and the Welcome Back Reception at the Old Residence of the Japanese Embassy on the same day.
Sincerely,
Joy Young
