We’ve extended the deadline for the JET karaoke sing-off. Please let me know by this Friday, 12/17, if you are interested in participating! See below for details:
Greetings! When was the last time you sang your heart out in front of encouraging Japanese folks to your favorite Nihongo song? Do you have the courage to take your karaoke skills “outside the box?” Want to have fun?
For the second consecutive year, JETAADC will be participating in the Shinnenkai of the Japan Commerce Association of Washington (JCAW) on January 30, 2011. Last year, we submitted our photo exhibit, “Japan Through Our Eyes,” and this year JETAADC will have a more “active” submission: a karaoke sing-off!
When: January 30, 2011
Time: 11 am – 3 pm (JETAADC is scheduled to appear from 1:20-1:40)
Where: Washington Plaza Hotel, 10 Thomas Circle, NW Washington, DC
We’re looking for a few genki individuals to perform their favorite Japanese song at the karaoke sing-off. A panel of Japanese judges will be there to watch a la American Idol. All genres are accepted, so long as it is in Japanese. Prizes will be awarded.
JETAADC has 20 minutes, so we anticipate needing about 4-5 singers for this event, depending on song length. If this sounds like fun to you, RSVP to rachel.tuil@gmail.com by Friday, December 17th. Please send your name, prefecture, and possible song choice.
Looking forward to hearing your talent!
