On February 3, JETAADC was honored to work with the JET Program Office and the Embassy of Japan in Washington, DC to host the second rendition of Sake and Sumi-e: A Japanese Sip and Paint. Over 30 JET alumni and Friends of JET enjoyed tasting delicious sake provided by the Japan-America Society of Washington DC while trying the art of traditional Japanese ink painting led by sumi-e painter Mark Malecki from The Art League.

During the event, JETAADC also awarded its 2023 Member of the Year award to JETAADC Social Chair Natasia (Tasi) James (Saitama, 2016-2020), who led both the first and second planning for the Sake and Sumi-e events. Congratulations, Tasi!

JETAADC would like to express their gratitude to the JET Program Office and the Embassy of Japan in Washington, DC for their ongoing partnership and hard work to help put on this event again.
