Good times were had at the Taiko Workshop this Saturday with Mark H Taiko! During this 3-hour workshop arranged especially for JETAADC, Mark gave a talk on the history and evolution of taiko in Japan and the U.S. as well as how he handcrafts his own drums (the secret ingredient is whiskey barrels!). Participants also learned proper taiko technique, kakegoe (use of voice), and the first few phrases of a song. After the workshop, Mark and JETAADC wrapped up the night with drinks, snacks and taiko talk at the Olive Lounge & Grill.
