We need YOU to help process these applications with us! If you have some extra time on your hands, come help the JET Office!
New JET returnees who have not yet found full-time work, this is a great opportunity for you! Other JET alumni – even if you are already employed, does your job allow you to work part-time? Working mornings or afternoons only IS an option!
Even if you are a Japanese citizen or an FOJ (Friend of JET) living in the DC area, we can use your help so please let us know if you’re interested.
We will need application processing staff this year from November 8 through mid-January 2011.
Hours are from 9:30am to 5:00pm, with lunch from 1:00-1:30pm. Even if you can only work the morning shift or the afternoon shift, we might be able to use your help; of course, individuals who can help full days, Monday-Friday are especially needed!
Pay: $70/day
Requirements: You must be either ineligible to apply to the JET program or not intending to reapply for the program in the near future.
We are seeking enthusiastic and professional quick learners with strong organizational skills. You also must be ok sitting for long periods of time and doing repetitive work.
Japanese citizens may apply.
Each year, the JET Program Office Application Processing Staff is a mix of JET alumni and Japanese citizens. It’s the most hectic time of year for the JET Office but we always have fun reminiscing about our JET days while we sort through the thousands of applications. We also usually have a few native Japanese speaking temps as well, so it’s a great opportunity to practice Japanese while you work!
If you are interested, please send your resume and a short e-mail to jetprogram@ws.mofa.go.jp including the following information:
1. Proposed start date
2. Your availability – which days per week and whether you can work full days or just mornings/afternoons
3. Whether you would be available for overtime occasionally ($10/hr)
4. Days you would need off for holiday travel if you know them already
5. Your cell phone #
Thank you very much. We look forward to hearing from you!
