Hello friends,
Since hearing of the earthquake/ tsunami and subsequent nuclear meltdown, I have been compelled to do something, probably like many of you. Although I have only been through Sendai in a train, I can imagine the narrow streets, children walking to school in their black uniforms, rice fields with obaachans carrying baskets on their backs, fishing boats, all very similar to my village in Shimane-ken. The loss is incomprehensible to me.
So, as a humble offering, I am teaching a donation class to support Japan on Sunday, April 17th, from 1:30-3:30 at Quiet Mind Yoga (www.quietminddc.com) in Columbia Heights. I hope you will be able to join me to move, chant, prostrate and to offer a pause in recognition of life and loss.
Peace and blessings,
Trisha Nakano
