Say “sayonara” to the new JETs leaving for Japan!
We’re looking for 30-35 volunteers to staff this year’s Farewell Reception held at the beautiful Japanese Ambassador’s Residence. Volunteers will assist Embassy staff for one 45 minute shift and then be free to mingle with departing JETs, enjoy (free!) food and drink, and explore the Ambassador’s residence.

Date: Friday, July 31st
Where: Japanese Ambassador’s residence, 4000 Nebraska Avenue NW
When: Volunteers arrive at 5:30pm for a brief orientation. The event is from 6:00-7:30pm.
Volunteer shifts: One 45-minute shift from either 6:00-6:45pm or 6:45-7:30pm
Volunteer duties:
–Nebraska Gate security: Check in guests at the outside gate
–Greeter: Guide guests through metal detector to inside check-in desk
–Registration: Check in guests in residence lobby, provide them with name tags
–Cloak room: Accept coats and bags, give tickets to guests for item retrieval
–Drink stations: Pouring drinks for guests and ensuring everyone has a drink for the kampai
–Food stations: Removing empty food trays and clearing discarded plates/cups
–Help with event clean up is greatly appreciated
