2016 Cherry Blossom Festival – Annual Tidal Basin Clean-Up
Calling all volunteers to come and participate in the Japan-America Society’s Annual Tidal Basin Clean-Up to prepare for the upcoming Cherry Blossom Festival! Volunteers will be helping the National Park Service with weeding and mulching the trees, raking and cleaning the grounds, clearing underbrush and cleaning trash from around the Tidal Basin.
We will meet at the site of the 1st Japanese cherry blossom trees and the Japanese Lantern at 17th St and Independence Ave, SW (which is just south of the WWII Memorial).
If interested in participating, please RSVP to your JETAADC Volunteer Co-Chairs, Aileen and Jessica at volunteer@jetaadc.org by March 2nd with your name, years on JET and contact information and we will submit our group’s registration to the Japan-America Society.
