Assistant Secretary Daniel R. Russel
Prior to his appointment as the U.S. Department of State as Assistant Secretary for Asian and Pacific Affairs, Mr. Russel served at the White House as Special Assistant to the President and National Security Council (NSC) Senior Director for Asian Affairs. He is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service and served as U.S. Consul General in Osaka-Kobe from 2005-2008, among other posts.
